Set up how you’re paid
Open Business › Invoices › Payment settings first: your currency and tax rate, numbering, when invoices fall due, the How to pay instructions printed on every invoice, and your own payment schedules.
Send a quote
- Choose Create › Quote (or New quote on Quotes) and pick the client.
- Add lines (or Add a package), a discount or tax, and a note.
- Choose Send to the client. They open it, type their name and choose Accept quote, or Decline.
- Once accepted, choose Turn into an invoice.
Send an invoice
- Choose Create › Invoice, add the lines, and under Payments pick a schedule: one payment, half now and half later, a retainer and balance, three payments, one of yours, or Custom split. Up to 12 payments and 50 lines.
- Choose Send to the client. Each payment can be requested on its own with Request it, and Mark as paid records a payment you received another way.
- Use Print or save as PDF for a paper copy.
On Free and Basic, up to 3 invoices (voided ones don’t count); quotes aren’t counted.
Reminders
With Remind clients automatically on (Payment settings, on unless you turn it off), clients are emailed from three days before a payment is due, the day after it is due, and a week later, never after 60 days and never for a paid or void invoice.
Card payments
With card payments on, the studio’s owner connects the studio’s own Stripe account under Payment settings › Card payments › Connect Stripe, and clients see Pay by card. The money goes straight to your Stripe account; refunds are made there. Clients paying by card can also set the rest of the payments to be charged on their due dates, and you can let them add a tip. If Payment settings says card payments are coming soon, they aren’t switched on in Alita Gallery yet, and clients pay the way your invoice says.
