Start from a template
Open Business › Contracts › Templates. The ones under Ready to use (wedding photography, portrait and engagement sessions, second photographer, model and print release) can be used as they are, or copied with Make your own copy and changed. New template writes one of your own.
Send a contract
- Choose Create › Contract, pick the client and the template.
- Fill in every spot the template asks for. If the client has answered a questionnaire, details can be filled in from it.
- Choose whether you countersign after they sign, whether they get reminders, and Ask for an email code before signing (on unless you turn it off).
- Choose Send to the client. A sent contract can’t be edited; void it and start a new one instead.
How your client signs
They agree to sign electronically, confirm a six-digit code emailed to them if you asked for one, type their full legal name, draw or type their signature, and choose Sign. They can Decline instead.
Countersign and keep the copy
- Choose Sign as your studio when it’s your turn: type your name and draw, type or reuse a saved signature.
- When everyone has signed, both of you are emailed the signed PDF, with a certificate of completion. Download signed PDF gets it again.
- Reminders go on the third and seventh day after sending, at most twice; Send a reminder sends one now.
- On Free and Basic, up to 3 contracts (voided ones don’t count).
Check a signed copy
Anyone can check a signed PDF at alitagallery.com/verify: type its verification ID, or drop the PDF (it is checked in the browser, never uploaded), to see whether it is the signed copy, unchanged.
