Before you start
Payment links take card payments, so connect your Stripe account first: Payment settings › Card payments › Connect Stripe (the studio’s owner does this). You can make links before then; they take payments once Stripe is ready.
Make a payment link
- Open Business › Payments › Payment links and choose New link.
- Give it a title and say what it’s for: a deposit, a consultation, a workshop, an album, a preset pack or a tip.
- Choose Set amount, or Client chooses with the smallest and largest amounts they can pay.
- Add a description and a picture from one of your collections if you like, and how many can be paid (for a workshop with ten places, say).
- Leave it Active to take payments now, or save it as a draft. Copy the link and share it anywhere.
The client opens it on your client site, gives their name and email, and pays by card with Stripe. They are emailed a receipt, you are emailed too, and the payment is matched to the client with that email, or added to your clients as a lead.
Gift cards
Under Gift cards, choose New gift card to give one: an amount, an optional last day, and who it’s for. Tick Email the code to them now to send it.
To sell them, make a payment link and choose A gift card. The buyer pays and names who it’s for, and that person is emailed a code for the amount paid.
A client types the code on an invoice (Pay with a gift card) or on your booking page. A card can pay part of a payment or all of it, and whatever is left stays on the card. Void stops a card being used; payments already made with it stay paid.
Booking codes
Under Booking codes, choose New code: a percentage or an amount off, for every session or the ones you pick, with an optional last day and number of bookings. Clients type it on your booking page before they sign, and the quote and invoice show what it took off.
Transactions and reports
Transactions lists every payment from invoices, bookings, your store and payment links, by the day it was paid. Filter by dates, source and method, search by client, and choose Download CSV for your bookkeeping.
Reports adds money in by method, refunds, tips, tax collected and what gift cards paid. A payment made with a gift card is never counted as money in twice: the card’s sale already was.
