Before you start
The store takes card payments, so connect your Stripe account first: Payment settings › Card payments › Connect Stripe (the studio’s owner does this). Until card payments are on, the store can’t open.
Make a price sheet
- Open Business › Store and choose New price sheet.
- Under Prints, Wall art, Cards, Albums and books, and Downloads, choose Add. Wall art can be a canvas, a metal, acrylic or wood print, or a framed print or canvas. A card is flat or folded.
- Give each product a name, a size (inches or centimeters), a paper or finish, a description clients read, and your price. A download is the original or the web size.
- Products start with the usual options for their kind, such as a frame color, a canvas edge, a pack of cards or an album’s pages. Change the choices, give a choice a price of its own, or Add an option.
- Add the Lab’s cost if you like, to see your margin beside the price. Price from lab cost then sets every price on the sheet from that cost and your markup, rounded as your Store settings say.
- Set a Smallest order for the sheet if you like: it counts the products, before any code, shipping and tax.
- Tick Hide it from clients for now to keep a product off the store without deleting it.
You make each order yourself: the order says what to make, at what size, crop and options, and where it goes. An album’s photo is its cover, and you design the pages with the client.
Shipping, pickup and tax
Under Settings, Add a shipping method for each way you ship: a price for the order, free above an amount if you like, and the countries it goes to. Clients choose their country and method in the cart. Offer Local pickup with where and when. With neither shipping nor pickup, clients see only digital products.
Pickup and downloads are taxed at the rate in Payment settings. For shipped orders, Add a tax rate for a country, or a state or region of one, and set the rate for everywhere else you ship to. Studios that set no rates keep the one rate from Payment settings.
Review window and terms
Set a Review window to give yourself time to check each order, and its crops, before it counts as ready to make or goes to your lab. Downloads are ready at once.
Write your Terms of sale and a Download license in your own words. Clients agree to the terms at checkout, and see the license when they buy downloads.
Coupons and customers
Under Coupons, choose New code: a percentage or an amount off, and optionally a smallest order, a last day and a number of orders. Turn a code off and on with its switch.
Customers lists everyone who has bought from your store, with their orders and what they paid. Download CSV saves the list for a spreadsheet.
Open a collection’s store
- In the collection, open Settings › Store.
- Choose the Price sheet it sells from and turn on Open the store.
- Under Product previews, Choose photos for the Shop to show your products with, or leave it to the cover and first photos.
Clients then see Buy photo in the viewer and a bag on each favorite, and the Shop in the gallery bar, which lists your products by category, each shown with one of their own photos. They choose a product and its options, crop it to its shape, and check out with Stripe. Downloads can be saved as soon as they are paid for. You and the client are both emailed about each paid order, and the money is in your Stripe account.
