Turn favorites on
In a collection, open Settings › Favorite and turn on Allow visitors to favorite photos. Clients then heart photographs in the grid or the viewer; the first heart starts a list called Favorites, and New list makes more. In the viewer, a hearted photograph can carry a note to you, such as a crop or an edit.
Ask for a selection
- In Settings › Favorite, under Selection, turn on Ask clients to send a selection.
- Set Up to how many photographs, and if you like At least how many and a Price per extra photo.
- Choose Save selection rules.
A selection counts every photograph in all of a client’s lists, each once, so another list doesn’t get round the limit. Videos aren’t counted. When the client chooses Send selection, it is locked until you reopen it.
Use a selection
- On the Activity tab, under Favorite Activity, open the client’s list.
- Under Lightroom Classic, choose Copy filenames, Download .txt or Download CSV (with the client’s notes). Remove edit suffixes strips endings such as -Enhanced or -Edit so the names match your originals.
- In Lightroom Classic’s Library, open the filter bar, choose Text, then Filename and Contains, and paste.
- Choose Reopen selection to let the client change it, or Add extras to an invoice to start a draft invoice for photographs beyond the limit. Nothing is charged until you send that invoice.
