Create a collection
- On Collections, choose New collection.
- Type the Collection name, the Event date if you like, and pick a Preset if you have saved one.
- Choose Create collection. It starts as a draft, hidden from clients, with one section called Highlights.
Upload photographs and folders
- Open the collection and choose the section photographs should go into.
- Choose Upload photos & videos, or drop files anywhere on the page.
- To upload a whole shoot, choose Upload folder or drop the folder: photographs at its top go to Highlights, and each subfolder becomes a section (an existing section of the same name is reused).
JPEG, PNG, HEIC, TIFF, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, GIF and BMP are accepted, up to 50 MB each, with up to 3,000 photographs and 50 GB per collection. Clients download exactly the file you uploaded.
Before uploading, files already in the collection are found: Skip duplicates and upload the new ones, or Replace changed ones (the old copy is removed only once the new one is up). The upload tray shows what is uploading, done and failed; Retry unfinished tries again, and if the page is reloaded the queue is saved so you can pick the same files and carry on.
Arrange sections and order
- Add a section with New section in the Sections rail; rename or delete one from its ⋯ menu (only an empty section can be deleted), and drag to reorder.
- Choose the photo order in the toolbar or in Settings › General: date taken, filename, upload time, or Custom: drag to reorder. Dragging a photograph switches the order to Custom.
- Select photographs to Move to section…, Set as cover or Delete selected.
- Star a collection to keep it at the top of your list, and add Category tags in Settings › General to filter by them.
Folders, copies and the Photo Library
- Group collections in folders, such as a year of weddings: choose New folder on Collections, then Select, pick the collections and choose Move to folder. A single collection moves from its ⋯ menu with Move to folder…. Folders are only for you; clients never see them.
- Open a folder to see its collections, with the same search, filters and order. Rename or delete it from its ⋯ menu: deleting a folder moves its collections back to the top of Collections and never deletes them.
- ⋯ › Duplicate… makes a new draft called “<name> copy” with the same settings, design, sections, tags, password and folder, and a link and web address of its own. Photos and videos aren’t copied: upload them to the copy.
- Photo library (Library in the top bar) shows every photo in your collections, newest first by the day it was taken, in months. Search by file name, collection or tag, choose Dates for a range, and tap a photo to open it in its collection.
Design the gallery
On the Design tab, choose a cover layout, the cover photo and its focal point, and the cover’s height. Clients see the design as soon as it is saved, and the live preview beside the options shows it on a computer or a phone.
Color has nine themes, from light and dark to soft gold, blush, terracotta, sand, sage, sea glass and olive night, and your own accent color on top. Typography pairs a heading font with the text: Classic, Serif, Sans, Modern, Airy, Bold or Minimal. Grid sets masonry columns or rows of one height, regular or large thumbnails, regular or wide spacing, and whether the gallery bar shows words beside its icons.
Clients can still switch the page between light and dark. An event gallery made from the collection takes the same look.
Add a watermark
- Set up your watermark once on the Studio page under Watermark: text or your logo (PNG, JPEG or WebP), its position, size and strength, then Save watermark.
- In a collection, turn on Settings › Watermark › Watermark the photos clients see. Keep the page open while the stamped copies are made.
The watermark is on what clients view and on web-size downloads. Original downloads, the cover and videos are never watermarked.
Publish, expire and delete
- Choose Publish when it is ready. Photographs that haven’t finished uploading stay hidden until they have.
- Set an expiry date in Settings › Privacy: the gallery closes at the end of that day. Clients who registered their email can be reminded a week before (an option on the Studio page under Emails).
- Save a collection’s settings for next time with ⋯ › Save as preset….
- ⋯ › Delete collection moves it to Trash: it goes offline at once, still uses storage, and is deleted for good after 30 days. Restore it from Trash in the ⋯ menu.
